One would expect the Holy face of Jesus to be radiant and glorious,
BUT ON CALVARY THAT DAY....
The face of Jesus was that of a tormented, exhausted, tortured man,
A willing victim, at the mercy of His executioners.
The pain and humiliation inflicted upon our Redeemer is sorrowful.
Seen is the face of Jesus in the dawn of His manhood.
His long darkish hair is stained and matted,
With a mixture of Blood and dirt.
Sharp needle like spines protrude from the Crown of thorns,
Penetrating into and across His forehead.
His dark hollowed eyes are rolled upward toward Heaven,
Jesus calls upon His Father to end His suffering.
Tears stream down his gaunt cheeks, mixing with His Blood.
His lips are dry and cracked for the want of a drink of water.
Considering the pain and agony He feels, all is silent.
Then He cast his eyes slowly downward,
Looking for the last time at mankind,
