CATHOLIC DOORS MINISTRY

Monthly Newsletter of July, 2015.
(Issue # 183)

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,

Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. [Phil 1:2] This month, I am happy to announce that the Twitter Account of Catholic Doors Ministry @catholicdoors has finally reached over 1,000 followers. It now has 1,009 followers. Praise God!

Today, I would like to talk to you about when we meet a new person. When we look at that person, we usually judge him by the impressions that he leaves us. This is the first step in determining what we "like" and "dislike" about the person. Let us stop here! When we met that new person, what did we look at? We looked at his face, his overall body, if he was skinny or if he was fat. We also looked at how he was dressed. But is that the person?

Our eternal soul, our consciousness, our self-awareness, is a formless entity that needs a body to manifest itself. When you look at a person, being unable to see his soul, you look at his physical form and how it is dressed, consequently placing a judgment on that form. But do you really know the soul of the person, the real invisible person that is hidden within the physical body/form?

If the person is poor, and is dressed as a poor person, we may judge that persons as being poorly dressed, leaving much to be desired. But is it the fault of the real person, the invisible soul? Maybe God permitted this individual to be born in poverty. Maybe God wanted to teach humility to this soul. Maybe God knew that if this person was poor, he would be closer to Him spiritually.

So is it right to judge a person by his appearance, by the shell that holds this soul, permitting it to express itself in this world? Unless we know the heart of a person, we do not know the soul of that individual. We think we know him. We know him according to what we see, the physical. But what about what we do not see, the invisible nature of that person?

This month, in your spare time, alone or with another person, reflect on how you view others. Ask yourself, "Am I aware of the soul within each person, the self-consciousness that struggles in the physical body/form to manifest itself in this world?" Take the form/physical body away and I assure you, every soul are equal. They are all formless self-consciousnesses that have been given a body to learn life experiences.

May this reflection enrich you spiritually so you may come to know others as you know yourself.

May God bless you all.
