Easter Greetings to the Christian community,
In a few days, we will once more commemorate the glorious resurrection of the Lord Jesus Who now dwells in the Kingdom of Heaven as eternal King and Ruler of all His creations.
For many, Easter Sunday means going to Church and then going home to feast on the best of foods, surrounded by relatives, opening some presents, eating lots of chocolate, especially chocolate eggs, bunnies and chickens. By the end of the day, many shall have a sore tummy as a result of over-eating.
Is this really what Easter is all about? Isn't Easter a reminder that we too shall resurrect one day? "Now if Christ is proclaimed as raised from the dead, how can some of you say there is no resurrection of the dead? If there is no resurrection of the dead, then Christ has not been raised; and if Christ has not been raised, then our proclamation has been in vain and your faith has been in vain. We are even found to be misrepresenting God, because we testified of God that he raised Christ—whom he did not raise if it is true that the dead are not raised." [1 Cor. 15:12-15]
If we truly believe in the glorious resurrection of the Lord Christ and if we are truly celebrating the feast of His resurrection, why is there no mention of this great event in the family environment? Have we all forgotten what we are celebrating?
This Easter Sunday, prior to feasting on the foods that the Lord has provided, take a moment to say the following prayer:
Lord Jesus, thank you for Your glorious resurrection.
Thank you for all the sacrifices You have made for me,
including your death on the cross.
Thank you for the undeserved gift of salvation.
Thank you for Your unmeasurable Divine love.
May I always be worthy of thy graces. Amen.
Print or hand write this prayer so you will have it ready when needed. May the grace of God shine aboundantly on you and your loved ones on this Easter.
