Dear friends of Jesus,
This past month, many nations were shocked by the violence that was displayed at the Boston Marathon. Innocent people, men, women and children, were murdered or seriously injured because of the belief of a couple muslims who abide by the teachings of Islam.
They believed literally what the Koran commands regarding the infidels (those who do not believe in the Koran, usually a reference to the Christians.) "Allah is an enemy to unbelievers." [Sura 2:98] "On unbelievers is the curse of Allah." [Sura 2:161] "Slay them wherever ye find them and drive them out of the places whence they drove you out, for persecution is worse than slaughter." [Sura 2:191]
Among those who were murdered was a little Catholic boy, Martin Richard, age 8. He happened to be near the finish line of the Boston Marathon. The bomb was 3 feet away from him. This innocent little boy who had received his First Communion in May 2012 had recently made a sign that said, "No more hurting people. Peace." Surely, the Holy Spirit must have inspired him at the time to write those words. For those words pierce the heart of millions who read them. It is as if Martin was saying, "I forgive you - no more hurting people."
Martin died because he was a Christian, to the muslims, an enemy of Islam. Martin was a martyr of the faith. Had he been a muslim living in a muslim country, he would have been protected by Islam.
I sincerely believe that because of his tender age, whereas according to Catholic teachings, a child under the age of reason (age 8) cannot sin, Martin must have been taken straight to Heaven by his Guardian Angel. I encourage those in need of prayers to lift their prayers to little Martin, asking him to intercede before Jesus through the Immaculate Heart of Mary on their behalf. I believe that in time we will see wonders being worked through the martyrdom of Martin. May God rejoice in the heavenly presence of this young soul.
In the love of Jesus and Mary,
