CATHOLIC DOORS MINISTRY

Monthly Newsletter of January, 2013.
(Issue # 153)

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,

It seems that Christmas was just a few days ago. Now we are preparing for the Season of Lent that will begin with Ash Wednesday on February 13th. How fast time flies by!

When you are young, time seems to drag on forever. The weekend, playtime, never seems to come around fast enough. As you get older, time seems to fly by. The weekend came and went and there was insufficient hours to do everything that had to be done.

When communicating with seniors, you frequently hear the comment that, "Life is short." With advanced age comes an understanding of the biblical words, "With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day." [2 Peter 3:8] Fifty years ago seems like yesterday, one wondering, "Where has all the time gone?"

With the approach of Lent, while looking back at all the days of our lives that have come to pass, we are called more than ever to embrace the new season of renewal and conversion. Lent calls us to renew our commitment to ourselves, to the people we encounter in our day-to-day lives and to our God. During this Year of the Faith, may the Lenten Season be a very special time for all of us as we prepare to celebrate Easter with renewed faith, enthusiasm and commitment.

Life is short, our days are numbered [Psalm 139:16; Job 7:1] "Man's days are determined; you have decreed the number of his months and have set limits he cannot exceed." [Job 14:5]

It does not matter how much money you have, which Doctor you can afford, how many vitamins and supplement you consume, when your time has arrived, you will be called to answer. Answer to what? For every word, every action, every evil thought, every sinful command and counsel you have given, for every evil consent, for provocating others to sin, for praising sin, for concealing sin, for remaining silent regarding one's sin when you should have spoken up, and for defending the ill done by yourself or others.

Time is short! Now is the time to embrace a renewal and conversion! Now is the time to be ready in case Jesus suddenly calls you to the Judgment Throne. May the grace of God be with you, giving you all the strength that you need to be received in the living Arms of Our Lord Jesus.

In the two Hearts,

Webmaster
