Monthly Newsletter of September, 2009.
(Issue # 113)

Dear members of the Mystical Body of Christ,

Each year, the month of October is dedicated to the Most Holy Rosary. This is primarily due to the fact that the liturgical feast of Our Lady of the Rosary is celebrated annually on October 7th. It was instituted to honor the Blessed Virgin Mary in gratitude for the protection that she gives the Church in answer to the praying of the Rosary by the faithful.

Following the victory of the Catholic forces in the Battle of Lepanto on October 7, 1571, Pope St. Pius V (1504-1572) introduced the Feast of the Holy Rosary. The pope attributed more to the "arms" of the Rosary than the power of cannons and the valor of the soldiers who fought there.

For your information, during the past few months, all Prayer Requests were forwarded to Rev. Father Pius who personally answered them. I am thankful to Fr. Pius who accepted this responsibility over and above the other obligations he has in his Diocese.

Those wishing to have a Holy Mass celebrated for a special intention, they may send their Mass Stipend(s) to:

Fr. Antony Pius Edezhath
St. Joseph's Chapel
Pudukad Estate
Chundakunnu Post,
Chemperi 670 632
Kannur District, Kerala, India

The minimum recommended donation is $5.00 per Holy Mass. Your Mass Stipend donation goes towards supporting the priest in his basic needs and ministry. We all know of the extreme poverty that exists in India, where many priests do not receive support from their parishioners.

May the grace, love and peace of Jesus be with you everyday of your life,
