Dear friends of Jesus,
Greetings in the name of the Lord. Among the many world disturbances as never seen before, civil disorder, earthquakes, floods, foreclosures, forest fires, escalating gas and oil prices, the persecution of Christians, tornadoes, the stock market, the watering down of the Sacrament of Marriage, I pray that the love and peace of the Lord continues to reign in your hearts.
There is no doubt that the aforementioned world disturbances and many others are causing incredible hardship upon millions of individuals. One wonders if these disturbances will come to an end. Many fear that this is just the tip of the iceberg of what is to come. Some claim that God is punishing the world for its abuses of human life, of the Church, of the Sacraments and of the planet. It cannot be ruled out that this is a great possibility.
With the arrival of the Summer Holidays in many countries and the closing of the schools, many students long to repeat their past memories of camping, swimming, boating, fishing, travelling, picnis, Bar-B-Qs, and all the usual fun. Many, due to financial difficulties and natural disasters, shall not relive their past memories during 2008.
More than ever, the world is in need of our prayers. The needs are endless, making it impossible for the mind to know what priorities should be set in one's prayers. It is best to ask the Lord Jesus to accept our prayers for the greatest needs according to His Divine Will in order for the Lord to distribute His graces where they are most needed. During the month of July, let us unite our prayers for those the most in need.
May the grace of God be with you and protect you during the weeks to come.
