Prayer Requests, Mass Stipends and Donations.

On February 11, 2016, nominations took place in the Diocese of Kannur, India. Consequently, the Diocese's contact persons for "Prayer Requests" and "Mass Stipends/donations" have changed. After 7 1/2 years of dedication by Fr. Antony Pius Edezhath towards the management of "Prayer Requests" and fund-raising through "Mass Stipends and donations," he has been replaced by a team of two priests. Welcome to the following priests that you may contact directly:

Fr. George Painadath

Fr. Joseph Kottiyath

Fr. George Painadath was born on April 30, 1960 at Chundale, Wayanad, North Kerala, and was ordained on May 25, 1990. Presently he has served various parishes like Holy Rosary, Thalassery, St. Francis Xavier, Pariyaram, Holy Trinity Cathedral, Kannur, Our Lady of Sorrows, Pilathara, Our Lady of Fatima, Thavam, St. Peter's Chalil and so on. He was the Director of Bible Apostolate.

Presently he serves also as the Director of the Family Commission.

Fr. Joseph Kottiyath was born on March 20, 1975 at Madakampoil in the Diocese of Kannur. After his philosophical and theological studies at St. Joseph's Inter Diocesan Seminary, Mangalore, he was ordained on January 26, 2006. He worded in parishes like Holy Trinity Cathedral, Kannur, St. Francis Assisi Church, Neruvambram. He served also as the Director of Legion of Mary. He did his Masters in Counseling and Licentiate in Spirituality.

Presently he is the secretary to the Bishop of Kannur.

While many Bishops now request a minimum offering of $ 10.00 to have a Holy Mass celebrated in their 
Diocese, the priests in India continue to accept a donation of $ 5.00 as a Mass Stipend for each 
Holy Mass.  They will also accept Mass Stipends for 30 Gregorian Masses.


When contacting one of the priests in the "Prayer Request Team," please state "Prayer Request" in the 
subject line of your email.  You will find their email addresses below their photos at the top of this 


Most supporters prefer to use Paypal.com to remit their Mass Stipend and/or donations to the Diocese 
of Kannur.  The paypal account is called "Mission in India."  If using their method of payment, 
please indicate the purpose of your contribution on the Paypal form.  Depending on what currency you 
are using, you may use any of the following:

In Canadian Funds

In British Pounds

In Euros
Others prefer to mail their donation directly to the Diocese of Kannur in India. You may do so by sending it to:

Please make sure to inform the priest by email that he is to expect a donation from you by postal mail, indicating the purpose of the donation. Make sure that your email address is clearly stated in all your correspondence.
