CATHOLIC TEACHINGS
REGARDING
THE EUCHARIST,
THE BODY AND BLOOD OF CHRIST

"So Jesus said to them, 'Very truly, I tell you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. Those who eat my flesh and drink my blood have eternal life, and I will raise them up on the last day; for my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink. Those who eat my flesh and drink my blood abide in me and I in them. Just as the living Father sent me, and I live because of the Father, so whoever eats me will live because of me. This is the bread which came down from heaven, not like that which your ancestors ate, and they died. But the one who eats this bread will live forever.' [Jn. 6:53-58]

Because of this many of his disciples turned back and no longer went about with him. So Jesus asked the twelve, 'Do you also wish to go away?'" [Jn. 6:66-67]

Under what authority do most Protestants reject the words of Jesus? They claim that the bread and wine offered by the Catholic priest at the Holy Mass is nothing more than a symbol of the body and blood of Christ. They reject the Sacred Words of Jesus who clearly said that when you eat the Bread, you are eating His Body, and when you drink the Wine, you are actually drinking his blood. How can they say that it is symbolic when Jesus said that it is not symbolic?

By rejecting the necessity to eat the Body and drink the Blood of Christ, they reject the Christian truth that the Body and Blood of Christ are necessary for eternal life.

Very few times in the Holy Bible does Jesus say "Very truly..." These two words mean, "Pay attention and believe!" Jesus spoke these two words when he made reference to his body and blood.

The transformation of the Bread and Wine into the Body and Blood of Christ are problematic for the Protestant. These are the same words that were problematic with the many disciples who left Jesus. [Jn. 6:66-67] As Jesus said to those who abandonned him, he says to the Protestants who reject his Words, "Do you also wish to go away?" They claim to be Christians but yet they rejects the Words of Jesus who is the Head of the Church. Surely, they cannot belong to the Church that was instituted by Jesus! Their association is with a man-made religion that was not instituted by Christ, nor approved by Christ.

To further support the doctrinal truth that the Consecrated Bread literally changes into the Body of Christ, one only has to search "Eucharistic Miracles" in the Google Search Engine. Thousands of links will appear to websites that report the endless number of Eucharistic Miracles that occurred during the past 2,000 years in support of the Divine Words of Jesus.
