Frequently Asked Questions

Q. 1. What is the meaning of "Rest in Peace?" Does that mean we will be doing nothing else than resting for eternity. That does not sound too exciting!

A. 1. First of all, "Rest in peace" comes from the Latin phrase Requiescant in pace.

Peace from what one might ask? From the stresses that are found in life on earth. There rarely is time to rest. Earthly obligations require that we attend school, do assignments, raise a family, maintain a regular job, take care of the sick members of the family, worry about the monthly mortgage payments of the house, the uncertainty of the future, and the list goes on.

"Rest in Peace" is freedom from the aforementioned to move on to a better life as promised by our Lord Jesus Christ. We may not know what our new spiritual life will involve; but we do know that it will consist of eternal happiness in the presence of the Lord God.
