Q. 2. What is the purpose of the Evangelical Counsels?

A. 2. The Evangelical Counsels, also called the Counsels of Perfection, are precepts that were given by Christ. They are binding on the priests who are called to that vocation. These priests usually belong to a Religious Order. Diocesan priests are not required to make the vow of poverty.
