Q. 1. At work, I have the opportunity of signing up for health insurance. Unfortunately, the insurance plan covers things such as abortion and sterelization which are condemned by the Catholic Church. What do I do?
A. 1. I can relate to your frustration. You can use health insurance, but you do not want to support a company that provides services that destroys life. Unfortunately, until such time as insurance companies provide insurance coverage that is in accordance with the teachings of the Catholic Church, you are left with no choice but to accept what is offered.
Because you sign up with an insurance company that provides abortion or sterilization, it does not mean that you are going to use such services. The Catholic Church forbids it.
I suggest that while you receive insurance coverage with this undesirable company, you keep on looking for for comparable coverage and rates through a company that does not cover abortion or sterilization.
