Q. 1. What is the meaning of the expression "Acta Apostolicae Sedis?"

A. 1. "Acta Apostolicae Sedis" is Latin for "Acts of the Apostolic See." It is an official journal that is published periodically. Established September 29, 1908, it contains all the principal decrees, encyclical letters, decisions of Roman congregations, and notices of ecclesiastical appointments. The contents are to be considered promulgated when published, and effective three months from the date of issue.
