Frequently Asked Questions

Q. 1. In the sixth Station of the Cross, Veronica wipes the face of Jesus. Where does this originate from? I cannot find any reference to it in the Holy Bible.

A. 1. The Bible does not have any reference to Veronica wiping the face of Jesus. The origin of this event is found in medieval texts that provide details of Veronica giving Jesus her veil to wipe His face as he walked to his death on Calvary. Consequently, the veil bore an imprint of the face of Jesus.
