A. 1. The word "paradosis" has its origin from the Greek language. It means "tradition." It usually refers to the tradition of transmitting information, such as doctrine, account or custom, from one generation to another.

An example of this is God's revelation that was given for centuries to His chosen people the Israelites and transmitted from generation to generation.
